With crowns or bridge

Enjoy a beautiful smile
with dental crowns and bridges

Dental crown is used to replace a single tooth while a bridge is a replacement that contains two or more crowns that are connected to each other.

A crown can return structure, strength and function to a tooth with extensive decay or damage and preserve the jaw’s correct natural alignment. A bridge not only fills a gap, but also prevents the repositioning of remaining teeth, corrects a misaligned bite, improves chewing efficiency and provides internal facial support to make you look younger.

“What is a crown? What is a bridge?“
A crown is a tooth replacement that covers the whole tooth and is shaped into the right form.
“In what cases can I receive crowns or bridges?“
If your teeth are distorted, for example: have broken edges, are too small, crossed or have gaps between them.
“What are they made of?“
1) Classic porcelain fused to metal crowns (the porcelain is fused onto a metal frame): We use nickel-free metal to avoid any allergic reactions as the material that most commonly causes allergic reactions in dentistry is nickel. (If you cannot wear watches or bijou jewellery please inform us in good time as these are signs of a nickel, or other type of metal allergy, without taking an allergy test.) In cases of allergy, it is highly likely that gold and titanium can be used.

2) The latest zirconium framed bridges: they can be used regardless of any allergic condition; their aesthetic appeal satisfies even the highest expectations and they possess excellent mechanical qualities - the gums and parodontium tolerate it well. They currently have the best qualities worldwide for crowns and bridges. This is the only metal-free alternative to bridges that is able to overarch longer sections of missing teeth.

3) Conventional, metal-free ceramic: we only use it in cases of single crowns; it is aesthetically pleasing and suitable for the front teeth as well.

4) CAD CAM zirconium crowns: this type of crown has the most accurate and highest aesthetic appeal. Their accuracy is due to CAD CAM technology; it is entirely metal-free and doesn’t cause any allergic reaction. In addition, it is perfect for single crowns as well as bigger bridges. A unique ceramic layer is placed on a zirconium frame using a method controlled by computer.
“What is their life expectancy?“
Their life expectancies vary and also depend on age. Naturally, crowns received at a younger age and by those in good health will function for a longer period of time than those fitted at an older age when parodontium diseases or other recessions are likely.

One of the main factors is the tooth material used for fixing (teeth that have received root canal treatment, been fitted with posts, are rotten or missing in numbers obviously negatively affect the life expectancy).

It is not advisable to wear crowns and bridges for too long as the teeth beneath can easily rot and may thereafter provide insufficient foundations for new replacements.
“Do their colours differ from those of natural teeth?“
Zirconium-oxide crowns, which look just like natural teeth: This new type of ceramic crown makes it possible to create bridges without the need for metal frames. The material is stable, stronger than a metal frame, translucent just like natural enamel, doesn’t cause any allergic reactions and is said to be the most bio-compatible material.
“What might cause a crown fall off?“
There are many reasons:
-An improper health care routine can cause tooth decay, which can render the crown unstable
-Chewing hard food
-An accident
-Inappropriate technical intervention when crowns don’t close properly and don’t fit the teeth precisely
“How much does a crown cost at our practice?“
Simple, metal framed crown: 330 GBP Zirconium- full ceramic crown 430 GBP
“How long does it take to receive a new crown?“
The highly qualified dentists who work with us will fit your perfectly fitted crown in a process that usually takes a week.

The sooner you book your appointment for dental crowns or bridges the sooner you can have your dream smile!
